Commuters are encouraged to plan their routes in advance and give themselves extra time to get to their destination.
The City of Edmonton would like to thank people for their patience during construction of the 23 Avenue Interchange.
Please drive with care and give construction crews room to work safely.
Speed limit reduced to 50km/h
Peak hours are 5:30a.m. - 9a.m. and 3:30p.m. – 9p.m.
The 23 Avenue Interchange Eastbound Bridge will be open in early September.
Traffic will be separated East and West bound on 23 Avenue.
Turning movements onto Gateway Boulevard northbound and Calgary Trail southbound will be accessible from both east and west bound 23 Avenue.
East and west bound access onto 23 Avenue from Gateway Boulevard and Calgary Trail will be available.
Traffic signals have been removed along Calgary Trail and Gateway Boulevard to allow free flow traffic below 23 Avenue.
The 19 Avenue Overpass will be open in late September. 19 Avenue can be accessed from southbound Calgary Trail via the 19 Avenue overpass access located south of 23 Avenue and from the 23 Avenue Interchange.
The temporary traffic signals at the intersection of 23 Avenue and the NW Service Road have been removed. This intersection is now right in/right out only. Left turns into or off of the NW Service Road are no longer permitted.
Access to and from the NW Service Road is available at 31 Avenue and at the 23 Avenue/NW Service Road intersection, west of the 23 Avenue Interchange. Right in only access from Calgary Trail is available adjacent to the Blush Bar. There is no exit from the NW Service Road at the Blush Bar location.
